In 1973, the first interment took place and the cemetery, known at time as Greenwood Cemetery began operation. Many years of property development and sales programs were all part of those early days. This involved local people selling cemetery property to family, friends, and co-workers. One of those sales people was a gentleman named Bryan Baker, an educator. There is a memorial located with the Brooke Cemetery bearing his name, The Bryan Baker Memorial Gazebo. Brooke Cemetery had numerous name changes in the past , countless number of owners, all adding their bits of character to the cemetery.
